The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office has released the names of the two workers killed in an industrial accident at the Montgomery Outer Loop Project near the Waugh exit off Interstate 85 on Wednesday.

Lomax Phillips, 53, of Birmingham, and David Lee White, 63, of Montgomery, were killed when a lift they were working in on the crossover ramp under construction above U.S. Highway 80 near mile marker 14 had a mechanical failure and fell 90 feet to the ground, Capt. Trent Beasley said.
