His current practice is 100% devoted to litigation, primarily personal injury, consumer fraud, and criminal defense. Charles is especially passionate about insurance bad faith litigation.
Charles describes insurance bad faith as, “Customers place their trust in insurance companies to keep their promise to help them through difficult and stressful times. When insurance companies break their promise to stand by their customers, it is especially egregious and they must be held accountable for their bad faith.”
Some of the work that he is most proud of, is representing injured children and their parents. “Since joining Penn and Seaborn, I have represented children who were victims of dog attacks, motor vehicle collisions, and other negligent behavior. I believe our firm’s best moments are when we are able to reassure and comfort parents and seek justice for their children’s injuries.”
Charles is a member of the Alabama and Georgia State Bar, the America Association for Justice, the Alabama Association for Justice, and the Alabama Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. He and his wife Georgia Ann are members of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Montgomery, Alabama.

Most Memorable Case
My most memorable case was a lawsuit that Penn And Seaborn filed on behalf of an Auburn University Montgomery student. Our client was seriously injured as a result of a fraternity hazing. The lawsuit alleged that our client was ceremoniously beaten in a cruel and sadistic manner during fraternity initiation rituals. The horrific details that came to light during the course of our investigation are things that will stick with me for a long time. Our goal throughout this case was to not only obtain a successful verdict for the client, but also to make it clear that this type of brutal behavior will no longer be tolerated.
